Five Tips to Curate a Beautiful and Peaceful Holiday Season
#1-The 4 gift rule.
A simple solution to reducing your holiday consumption is to limit the quantity of presents you give each person. I love the “four-gift rule” for averting the avalanche of gifts that always happens during the holidays. To use this rule, each person (or child) receives four presents that fall into the following categories: one they want, one they need, one to wear, and one to read. These categories are broad enough that there is lots of room for creativity, but specific enough to help you make easy decisions. Plus, you can be as frugal (or as extravagant) as you choose.
#2- The Best Hostess Gift
The Capri Iridescent Jar Candle. It comes in two scents Volcano and Fir and Firewood perfect for your host or hostess!
#3 Easy flowers that last for months!
The magic of white Orchids are brilliant! You can find them at any grocery store these days and December is the month of the year they are all in bloom.
#4 - My family's favorite Christmas dinner.
Baked Virginia Ham from Barefoot Contessa is about the easiest meal to make. And it gives you enough leftovers to make homemade mac & cheese with ham for New Years Eve! We always end the meal with Aunt Wilda's Chocolate Cake. Sorry that is a coveted family recipe! And of course, bubbles to compliment it all!
#5 Take Time for yourself!
Self care is so important during the holiday season. I recommend a good long soak in the tub with this recipe for soft skin and a quiet moment for yourself. Add a glass of wine or hot tea and you will think you spent the afternoon at the spa!
